Feng Shui: Position Of The Bed In The Home And During Vacation Travel

The positioning of your bed in your home, beach cottage or chalet or even at the motel on your vacation travelers can have a major effect on your life, your position and indeed good fortune and health. Even on vacation choose your quarters of your motel or hotel carefully with regard to Feng Shui principles and practices.

Positioning your bed is among the most important tasks for good, better and best feng shui for both yourself, your family, close friends and associates.

First of all it is best practice not have the foot of the bed in line with the door or doorposts or joists. Indeed in many cultures it is believed that the deceased should be laid out with their feet pointing towards the door for easier access to the heavens.

The very best place to locate your bed, in terms of geography of the bedroom or vacation motel room is in the areas of the assembled qi. This is usually diagonally opposite the doorway itself. Technically the area directly opposite or near the doorway is known as the area of disturbed qi.

The best chosen practice is not to have your head in the direct lineup with the bedroom door. Choosing this position in your home bedroom or hotel room ?on the road? can tend to make you restless in thoughts and behavior. You should have a full view of the door if at all possible, however for karma and safety it is best to actually be some distance away from the actual doorway. Similarly the bed head should be against a good solid wall. If the bed is near a window, then it is best practices to leave a small space for a small table or chair. As well qi can escape through windows during the evening and nighttime so ensure that curtains and blinds are closed fully and tightly.

Winds and drafts can not only lead to health concerns of the flu or wintertime colds but being in a crosscurrent between the door and the windows can sap your vital spirit and energies. Similarly pay special attention to the axis of the earth and the earth?s magnetic field. Some Feng Shui authorities will insist that the bed head should be on the north / south axis so that you are in a full line up with the magnetic energy of the earth.

If you are in a northern clime such as the Northern U.S.A. or Canada pay particular attention to the conditions, storms and intensity of the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis.

The Northern Lights are natural colored light displays, which are usually observed in the night sky, particularly in the polar zone.

In northern latitudes, it is known as the aurora Borealis, named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas.

Northern Lights often appear as a greenish glow, as if the sun were rising from an unusual direction. The Aurora Borealis are most intense between the month of October and from March to April.

In Australia the southern counterpart is known as the aurora Australis/southern polar lights. The Australian Polar Lights have similar properties.
